Abstract
dinamikanya semasa pemerintahan Joko Widodo. Neoliberalisme menjadi landasan
Agreement (PTA).
lanjutan. / Indonesia and South Africa have international trade potential that is worth
exploring. As a non-traditional market, South Africa is one of Indonesia's main
export destinations. This study aims to describe the international trade activities
carried out by Indonesia to South Africa and its dynamics during the Joko Widodo
administration. Neoliberalism is the theoretical basis of the study and is
complemented by the concepts of International Trade, Economic Diplomacy, and
International Cooperation. This study is qualitative and uses descriptive methods.
The data used are primary and secondary data. The results of the study show that
international trade activities from Indonesia to South Africa are based on
regulations and policies agreed upon by both countries which are still being
developed. Economic diplomacy between the two countries has been carried out,
but there are still obstacles such as differences in technical standards and the
incomplete Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA). There are three superior
commodities exported by Indonesia, namely palm oil, rubber, and motor vehicles.
In addition, Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) plays a role in international
cooperation between Indonesia and South Africa. The dynamics of international
trade between the two countries are influenced by domestic factors in Indonesia.
External factors such as the US-China Trade War, the COVID-19 pandemic, and
the Russia-Ukraine conflict have contributed to changes in the trend of Indonesia's
export value to South Africa. This study concludes that economic cooperation
between the two countries has good and profitable prospects, but requires further
policy updates.
