Dalam industri arsitektur dan desain interior yang penuh dengan dinamika dan persaingan yang ketat, Steven Lim Architects dihadapkan pada tantangan untuk terus meningkatkan hasil proyek mereka. Steven Lim Architects yang dikenal dengan spesialisasinya dalam merancang hunian mewah berkomitmen menjalankan visinya untuk terus meningkatkan kualitas dari setiap proyek yang dimiliki guna mencapai hasil proyek yang optimal. Keberhasilan dalam mencapai hasil proyek yang optimal tidak terlepas dari berbagai tantangan yang muncul selama proses desain dan pelaksanaan proyek. Peran seorang arsitek dan desainer interior tidak hanya terbatas pada menciptakan estetika hunian, tetapi peran mereka jauh lebih luas, mencakup tiga fase utama dalam siklus proyek, yaitu pra-pembangunan, saat pembangunan, dan pasca pembangunan. Ketiga fase ini merupakan komponen krusial yang tanpa disadari memberikan kontribusi signifikan terhadap hasil akhir dari proyek. Untuk mengatasi tantangan-tantangan ini, Steven Lim Architects menerapkan kolaborasi lintas disiplin. Kolaborasi ini bukan sekadar bentuk kerja sama teknis yang bersifat formal atau prosedural, tetapi menjadi ruang diskusi dan ruang kreasi yang sangat terbuka, di mana setiap individu dari berbagai disiplin membawa cara pandang, pengetahuan, dan sudut pandangnya masing-masing untuk memperkaya proses desain. Penerapan kolaborasi ini terlihat nyata dalam studi kasus proyek Pluit Sakti 8 Citra 2 melalui tiga bentuk utama, yaitu synergy of expertise, team alignment, dan open interaction. Dengan demikian, penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk memahami kaidah-kaidah bentuk kolaborasi dalam proses desain di Steven Lim Architects sebagai upaya optimasi hasil proyek. Penelitian akan diteliti dengan metode interpretatif, etnografi, dimana penulis ikut berpartisipasi dalam siklus proyek selama 10 bulan (Mei 2024 – Maret 2025) di Steven Lim Architects. / In the dynamic and highly competitive architecture and interior design industry, Steven Lim Architects faces the ongoing challenge of continuously improving their project outcomes. Known for its specialization in designing luxury residences, Steven Lim Architects is committed to pursuing its vision of consistently enhancing the quality of every project in order to achieve optimal project results. The success in reaching optimal outcomes cannot be separated from the various challenges that arise throughout the design and implementation process. The role of an architect and interior designer goes beyond merely creating aesthetic living spaces, their involvement spans across three major phases of the project cycle; pre-construction, construction, and post-construction. These three phases are crucial components that, often unconsciously, contribute significantly to the project’s final outcome. To address these challenges, Steven Lim Architects applies an interdisciplinary collaboration strategy. This collaboration is not merely a formal or procedural technical partnership, but rather an open space for discussion and creation, where individuals from various disciplines contribute their own perspectives, knowledge, and viewpoints to enrich the design process. The implementation of this collaboration is evident in the case study of the Pluit Sakti 8 and Citra 2 project through three key forms; synergy of expertise, team alignment, and open interaction. Therefore, this research aims to understand the principles of collaborative practices within the design process at Steven Lim Architects as a strategy to optimize project outcomes. This study will be conducted using an interpretive ethnographic method, in which the researcher participates in the project cycle for 10 months (from May 2024 to March 2025) at Steven Lim Architects.
