Abstract

Disarankan agar rumah sakit menyediakan pelatihan yang memadai dan berkelanjutan mengenai asuhan spiritual untuk meningkatkan kemampuan dan kesiapan perawat dalam memenuhi kebutuhan spiritual pasien secara holistik./Spiritual aspects are very important to consider as they have a positive impact on helping patients find meaning and purpose in life and can improve patients' quality of life. Nurses who are spiritually well may influence their willingness to provide spiritual care to patients. Research related to this topic has been conducted but has not been conducted in Indonesia. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between spiritual well-being and nurses' willingness to provide spiritual care to patients. The design of this study was quantitative descriptive correlation with a cross-sectional approach. The population in this study was 268 nurses in two hospitals in Indonesia and data collection using convenience sampling technique. The sample in this study was 220 nurses, representing a response rate of 82%. The instruments in this study used The Spiritual well-being Scale (SWBS) and The Spiritual Care Needs Inventory (SCNI) questionnaires. Data collection was carried out in March - April 2025 using an online questionnaire. Data analysis used univariate and bivariate analyses. Univariate analysis was used to determine the characteristics of respondents, the distribution of spiritual well-being data and nurses' willingness. Bivariate analysis with the Spearman correlation test was used to analyse the relationship between the two variables. The results showed the mean ± standard deviation of spiritual well-being and willingness of nurses were 99.9 ± 16.3 and 60.7 ± 63.0 respectively. Bivariate analysis using Spearman correlation test showed a significant and positive relationship between spiritual well-being and willingness (r=0.289, p-value=0.000). It is recommended that hospitals provide adequate and continuous training on spiritual care to improve nurses‘ ability and readiness to fulfil patients' spiritual needs holistically.
