Penelitian ini berisikan tentang Kode-kode Semiotika Roland Barthes yang membahas tentang temuan komunikasi nonverbal yang ada di dalam film pendek IRONY Mother Earth Calling. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menemukan pesan-pesan tersembunyi melalui simbol komunikasi nonverbal dengan menggunakan teori lima kode semiotika Roland Barthes. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan yaitu content analyze method, dengan bantuan teknik pengumpulan data dengan menonton serta mengamati, mengidentifikasi setiap data berupa potongan adegan dari film pendek IRONY Mother Earth Calling, dan mengaitkannya kepada lima kode semiotika Roland Barthes, yaitu (1) kode hermeneutik dalam rupa teka-teki alur cerita film untuk mendapatkan jawaban di akhir film. (2) kode semik yang menjadi penghubung konotasi dari tokoh, lokasi, simbol dari karakter di dalam film. (3) kode simbolik yang memiliki makna denotasi maupun konotasi dan dirincikan menjadi sebuah pesan. (4) kode proaretik yang akan membawa audiens melihat setiap proses tindakan yang terjadi untuk mendapatkan akhir cerita film. (5) kode gnomik atau kode kultural yang membantu penelitian untuk mengenali nilai budaya yang dimasukkan dalam alur cerita film. Peneliti menemukan kode simbolik sebagai kode yang banyak digunakan dan penggunaan kode gnomik sebagai kode semiotika yang sangat sedikit terlihat di dalam film pendek IRONY Mother Earth Calling. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dengan metode kualitatif terhadap kode-kode Semiotika Roland Barthes yang ditemukan pada komunikasi nonverbal pada film pendek IRONY Mother Earth Calling membuktikan bahwa setiap kode semiotika Roland Barthes dapat diterapkan ke dalam cerita film untuk menyampaikan pesan-pesan tersembunyi. / This research contains Roland Barthes's Semiotic Codes which discuss the findings of nonverbal communication in the short film IRONY Mother Earth Calling. This research known to find hidden messages through nonverbal communication symbols using Roland Barthes's five semiotic code theory. The method of research used is the content analysis method, by using data collection techniques by watching and observing, identifying each data in the form of scene clips from the short film IRONY Mother Earth Calling, and linking it to Roland Barthes' five semiotic codes, namely (1) hermeneutic code in the form of a film storyline puzzle to get the answer at the end of the film. (2) semic code which connects the connotation of the characters, locations, symbols of the characters in the film. (3) symbolic code which has denotative and connotative meanings and is detailed into a message. (4) proaretic code which will take the audience to see every action process that occurs to get the end of the film. (5) genomic code or cultural code that helps research to identify cultural values included in the film's storyline. Researchers found symbolic code as a code that is widely used and the use of gnomic code as a semiotic code that is very rarely seen in the short film IRONY Mother Earth Calling. Based on the results of research using qualitative methods on Roland Barthes' Semiotic codes found in nonverbal communication in the short film IRONY Mother Earth Calling, it is proven that each Roland Barthes semiotic code can be applied to the film's story to convey hidden messages.
