Abstract

Perawat disarankan mencatat intensitas tugas harian untuk mengidentifikasi pola beban kerja tinggi dan berkoordinasi dengan manajemen guna mencegah penumpukan tugas individu tertentu/Nurses are an essential part of healthcare personnel, playing a role in providing quality nursing care. Nursing care is influenced by workload, which consists of tasks given in physical and psychological forms. Nurses often perform repetitive activities such as bending, lifting, and moving patients with non-ergonomic postures, which risk causing low back pain. Low back pain is a musculoskeletal disorder caused by improper body posture, poor ergonomic practices, and repetitive strain that damages muscles in the lower back and causes pain. This study aims to describe the workload and complaints of low back pain among nurses using a cross-sectional design. The population taken in this study was 250 respondents, with a sample size of 149 using purposive sampling. The study was conducted from February to March 2025 at Siloam Hospital Kupang. The instruments used in this study were two questionnaires to measure workload and low back pain in nurses. Data analysis was performed using univariate analysis. The results of this study showed that out of 149 respondents, 96 nurses (64.4%) experienced low workload, and 53 nurses experienced high workload, while 74 nurses (49.7%) experienced moderate low back pain. Conducting training on occupational health nd safety management. Nurses are advised to record the intensity of daily tasks to identify high workload patterns and coordinate with management to prevent task accumulation on certain individuals
