Abstract

Virginia Henderson's theory reveals that spiritual needs are basic human needs that must be met. This theory is in line with the concept of holistic care which includes psychological, sociological, biological and spiritual aspects. Spiritual care is one of the most important aspects of nursing care delivery. Perceptions about the provision of spiritual care greatly influence the process of providing spiritual care to patients. In nursing care, spiritual care is still not optimally provided because there are barriers, namely inadequate perceptions and knowledge in nurses and nursing students. This study aims to identify the perceptions of nursing students at one of the private universities in Tangerang about the provision of spiritual care. This research method uses descriptive quantitative with a cross-sectional approach. The sample in this study was 244 nursing students. The research instrument used the Spiritual Care Giving Scale (SCGS) questionnaire. This study uses univariate and bivariate analysis. This research took place from January 2025 to May 2025. The results showed that the perception of nursing students about the provision of spiritual care was good, and there was no significant relationship between demographics, namely, gender, age, island origin, religion, stase passed, unit department, and GPA with student perceptions with a p-value> 0.05.
