Abstract
Jerawat merupakan salah satu penyakit kulit yang sering dijumpai di kalangan masyarakat mulai dari remaja hingga dewasa. Bagi sebagian orang, jerawat dapat menjadi permasalahan yang serius. Penggunaan obat sintetis seperti retinoid, benzoil peroksida, isotretinoin, dan antibiotik dapat menimbulkan efek samping bagi para penggunanya. Oleh karena itu diperlukan pengobatan lainnya yang minim efek samping. Penggunaan acne patch saat ini telah banyak digunakan. Dalam penelitian ini, acne patch dibuat melalui reaksi crosslinking dengan penambahan zat aktif berupa seaberry oil dan bakuchiol. Tujuannya supaya acne patch dapat digunakan untuk mengatasi jerawat dan bekasnya. Formula optimal yang didapatkan kemudian dikarakterisasi dan diuji efektivitasnya. Selain itu, acne patch juga dilakukan uji antibakteri dengan metode difusi cakram untuk melihat zona hambatnya. Berdasarkan pengujian yang telah dilakukan, didapatkan formula optimal yaitu acne patch berbasis polidimetilsiloksan dan poliorganosiloksan dengan konsentrasi seaberry oil 13% dan bakuchiol 1%. Kedua formula acne patch memiliki karakteristik organoleptis, ketebalan, daya lipat, keseragaman bobot, daya serap kelembapan, daya rekat, dan uji iritasi yang baik. Baik acne patch dengan basis polidimetilsiloksan maupun poliorganosiloksan memiliki daya hambat terhadap bakteri P.acnes yang tergolong kuat. Pengujian efikasi acne patch pada 11 peserta uji menunjukkan bahwa acne patch seaberry oil dan bakuchiol efektif dalam menyembuhkan jerawat beserta bekasnya / Acne vulgaris is one of the most common skin conditions, from teenagers to adults. For some individuals, acne vulgaris becomes a serious problem. Current acne treatments can be carried out in various ways. Hence, the use of synthetic drugs may cause some side effects. Therefore, alternative treatments with minimum side effects are needed. Acne patch formulations are now widely used. This study aims to formulate acne patch through a cross-linking reaction with the addition of seaberry oil and bakuchiol. So that, acne patch can be used to treat acne and its scars. The optimal formula obtained will be characterized and tested for its effectiveness. Additionally, antibacterial testing to acne patch will also be carried out through the disc diffusion method. The optimum formula of acne patch obtained is polydimethylsiloxane and polyorganosiloxane based acne patch with the concentration of 13% seaberry oil and 1% bakuchiol. Both acne patch formulas have good organoleptic characteristics, thickness, foldability, weight uniformity, moisture absorption, adhesion, and irritation. Besides, either polydimethylsiloxane-based acne patch or polyorganosiloxane-based acne patch have a strong inhibitory against P.acnes. The efficacy test carried out through 11 volunteers showed that seaberry oil and bakuchiol acne patch is effective in treating acne and its scars.
