Abstract

Perkembangan kecerdasan buatan (AI) telah memberikan dampak signifikan dalam dunia pendidikan tinggi, terutama melalui penggunaan generative AI tools yang membantu mahasiswa dalam menyelesaikan tugas akademik. Meskipun memberikan kemudahan, penggunaan AI juga menimbulkan kekhawatiran seperti potensi ketergantungan hingga penurunan kemampuan berpikir kritis. Oleh sebab itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis sejauh mana aspek etika mempengaruhi tingkat kepercayaan mahasiswa terhadap penggunaan generative AI tools, khususnya di kota Medan. Dalam penelitian ini, model Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) dimanfaatkan untuk menggambarkan bagaimana pengguna menerima dan menggunakan teknologi tersebut. Selain itu, penelitian akan menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan menyebarkan kuesioner kepada 402 responden, yang datanya akan dianalisis menggunakan software SmartPLS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa seluruh hipotesis dapat diterima, dimana nilai t-statistics dan p-value untuk variabel TRA dan PU (4,383; 0,000), TRA dan PEOU (9,666; 0,000), P dan PU (2,872; 0,004), P dan PEOU (9,068; 0,000), PEOU dan PU (5,597; 0,000), PU dan TRU (6,024; 0,000), PEOU dan TRU (5,368; 0,000), TRU dan ATU (12,565; 0,000), serta ATU dan INT (17,144; 0,000). Dengan demikian, dapat diketahui bahwa aspek transparansi dan privasi berpengaruh signifikan terhadap persepsi mahasiswa, yang secara tidak langsung meningkatkan kepercayaan serta mendorong sikap positif dan niat mereka dalam menggunakan AI tools. / The development of Artificial Intelligence has significantly impacted higher education, especially through generative AI tools that assist students in completing tasks. Although AI offers convenience, it also raises concerns such as the risk of people becoming too dependent on it and reduced critical thinking skills. Therefore, this study aims to analyze how ethical consideration influence students trust in using generative AI tools, specifically among students in Medan. In this study, the Technology Acceptance Model will be used to describe how users accept and use the technology. The research applies a quantitative approach by distributing questionnaires to 402 respondents, and the data will be analyzed using SmartPLS. Results show that all hypotheses are accepted, as indicated by the t-statistics and p-value for the relationships between TRA and PU (4,383; 0,000), TRA and PEOU (9,666; 0,000), P and PU (2,872; 0,004), P and PEOU (9,068; 0,000), PEOU and PU (5,597; 0,000), PU and TRU (6,024; 0,000), PEOU and TRU (5,368; 0,000), TRU and ATU (12,565; 0,000), then ATU and INT (17,144; 0,000). These findings indicate that trasparency and privacy significantly influence students perceptions, which indirectly enhance their trust and foster positive attitudes as well as intentions toward using AI tools.
