Abstract
Lingkungan peternakan yang tidak terkelola dengan baik dapat menimbulkan akumulasi gas berbahaya seperti amonia (NH₃) yang berdampak negatif terhadap kesehatan hewan ternak dan menurunkan produktivitas hewan ternak. Pemantauan kadar amonia secara berkala sangat diperlukan untuk menjaga kualitas udara di sekitar kandang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang sistem monitoring kadar amonia dalam udara berbasis Internet of Things (IoT) yang terintegrasi dengan aplikasi Android. Sistem ini menggunakan sensor MQ-137 untuk mendeteksi konsentrasi gas amonia, sensor DHT-22 untuk mendeteksi suhu dan kelembapan, mikrokontroler sebagai pengolah data, serta Firebase sebagai media penyimpanan dan pengiriman data secara daring. Aplikasi Android yang dikembangkan berfungsi menampilkan data kadar amonia secara real-time agar mudah diakses oleh pengguna. Penelitian ini dilakukan di lingkungan peternakan unggas sebagai studi kasus, mengingat tingginya potensi emisi amonia dari kotoran ternak. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa sistem bekerja secara stabil dan mampu memberikan informasi kadar amonia secara akurat, serta menjadi alat pengambilan keputusan untuk mengurangi kerugian atau meningkatkan keuntungan peternak. Dengan adanya sistem ini, diharapkan pemilik peternakan dapat lebih responsif dalam mengelola kondisi lingkungan agar tetap sehat dan aman bagi ternak./Poorly managed livestock environments can lead to the accumulation of harmful gases such as ammonia (NH₃), which negatively affects animal health and reduces livestock productivity. Regular monitoring of ammonia levels is essential to maintain air quality around the barn. This study aims to design an Internet of Things (IoT)-based air ammonia monitoring system integrated with an Android application. The system utilizes an MQ-137 sensor to detect ammonia gas concentration, a DHT-22 sensor to measure temperature and humidity, a microcontroller for data processing, and Firebase for online data storage and transmission. The developed Android application displays real-time ammonia level data for easy user access. The research was conducted in a poultry farm environment as a case study, considering the high potential for ammonia emissions from animal waste. Test results show that the system operates reliably and can provide accurate ammonia level information, serving as a decision-making tool to reduce losses or increase farmers’ profits. With this system, farm owners are expected to be more responsive in managing environmental conditions to ensure a healthier and safer setting for their livestock.
