Abstract

Saat ini generasi Z mulai memasuki dunia kerja begitu pun dengan pekerja generasi Z di Kota Tangerang. Pekerja dengan kelahiran pada generasi ini memiliki karakteristik unik yang memengaruhi cara mereka bekerja dan merespons lingkungan organisasi. Generasi yang lebih senior sering menganggap generasi Z sebagai pekerja yang ceroboh, tidak sopan, dan malas, serta menghindari tanggung jawab. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui apakah faktor internal dan eksternal dari para pekerja dapat mempengaruhi disiplin kerja, dan lingkungan kerja terhadap motivasi kerja, serta dampaknya terhadap kinerja karyawan. Metode pengambilan data dengan Purposive Sampling melalui penyebaran kuesioner kepada 200 responden dengan 192 responden yang memenuhi kriteria penelitian. Metode adalah Structural Equation Modeling dengan jalur model Partial Least Squares yang merupakan analisis statistik untuk menguji hubungan antar variabel laten dalam model struktural berbasis varians. Hasil dari pengujian menunjukan bahwa disiplin kerja dan memiliki pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap motivasi kerja, sementara lingkungan kerja tidak menunjukkan pengaruh yang signifikan. Namun, lingkungan kerja tidak berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap kinerja. Variabel motivasi kerja dipengaruhi sebesar 37,20% dipengaruhi oleh variabel disiplin kerja, lingkungan kerja, dan 62,80% dari variabel lain. Sedangkan, 60,90% variabel kinerja karyawan dipengaruhi oleh variabel motivasi kerja, disiplin kerja, lingkungan kerja, dan 39,10% dipengaruhi variabel lain. / Currently, Generation Z is entering the workforce, including those working in the City of Tangerang. Employees born in this generation possess unique characteristics that influence how they work and respond to organizational environments. Older generations often perceive Gen Z as careless, impolite, and lazy, and accuse them of using mental health issues as an excuse to avoid responsibility. This study aims to examine whether internal and external factors, particularly work discipline and work environment, influence work motivation and, in turn, affect employee performance. The study employed a purposive sampling method by distributing questionnaires to 200 respondents, with 192 responses meeting the research criteria. The analysis method used is Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with a Partial Least Squares (PLS) path model, a variance-based statistical approach for analyzing relationships between latent variables in a structural model. The results show that work discipline has a positive and significant effect on work motivation, whereas the work environment does not show a significant influence. Furthermore, both work discipline and work motivation have a positive and significant effect on employee performance. However, the work environment does not significantly affect performance. Motivation is influenced by 37.20% of work discipline and work environment variables, while the remaining 62.80% is influenced by other variables. Meanwhile, employee performance is influenced by 60.90% of motivation, discipline, and work environment, with the remaining 39.10% affected by other factors.
