Abstract

Kepala sekolah yang menerapkan kepemimpinan instruksional yang efektif, akan memfasilitasi peningkatan kualitas kinerja guru yang mengajar mata pelajaran yang tidak sesuai dengan latar belakang pendidikan mereka. Oleh karena itu, penting untuk mengeksplorasi bagaimana peran kepemimpinan instruksional kepala SD ABC Bandar Lampung diterapkan dalam mendukung kinerja guru yang mengajar di luar bidang keahliannya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan strategi studi kasus, di mana subjek penelitian dipilih melalui purposive sampling, yaitu kepala sekolah dan guru yang mengajar di luar latar belakang pendidikannya. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam dan observasi di kelas, yang kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif. Keabsahan data diperiksa menggunakan triangulasi sumber. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kepala sekolah menerapkan berbagai strategi kepemimpinan instruksional yang mendukung pengembangan profesional guru, yang berkontribusi pada peningkatan kualitas pengajaran. Meskipun tantangan yang dihadapi cukup besar dan hasilnya belum sepenuhnya optimal, penelitian ini memberikan wawasan tentang bagaimana kepala sekolah dapat membantu guru dalam meningkatkan efektivitas pengajaran mereka, terutama bagi yang mengajar di luar bidang keahlian. / School principals who implement effective instructional leadership will facilitate the improvement of the performance quality of teachers teaching subjects outside of their educational background. Therefore, it is important to explore how the role of instructional leadership is applied by the principal of SD ABC Bandar Lampung in supporting the performance of teachers teaching beyond their field of expertise. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study strategy, where the research subjects are selected through purposive sampling, namely the principal and teachers who teach subjects outside of their educational background. Data is collected through in-depth interviews and classroom observations, which are then analyzed descriptively. Data validity is checked using source triangulation. The research findings show that the principal applies various instructional leadership strategies that support the professional development of teachers, contributing to the improvement of teaching quality. Although the challenges faced are considerable and the results are not yet fully optimal, this study provides insights into how school principals can help teachers improve their teaching effectiveness, especially for those teaching outside their area of expertise.
