Abstract

Jerawat adalah kondisi kulit yang terjadi karena penumpukan minyak di kulit wajah, yang menyebabkan pori tersumbat dan memicu peradangan serta pertumbuhan bakteri, salah satunya bakteri Staphylococcus aureus. Daun matoa (Pometia pinnata J.R.Forst. & G.Forst.) memiliki kandungan flavonoid, tanin, saponin, alkaloid, dan steroid yang mampu sebagai antibakteri. Salah satu terapi lokal yang diminati dalam mengatasi permasalahan jerawat adalah sediaan serum.. Serum memiliki efek kerja secara lokal pada bagian tubuh seperti, wajah, bahu, dan leher. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui aktivitas antibakteri dari sediaan serum ekstrak etanol 70% daun terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus aureus. Ekstrak daun matoa didapatkan dengan metode maserasi dan pengujian antibakteri dilakukan dengan metode well diffusion. Sediaan serum ekstrak etanol 70% daun matoa F1 (1%), F2 (1,5%) dan F3 (2%) memiliki aktivitas antibakteri kategori kuat dengan masing-masing diameter 13,07 mm; 14,28 mm; dan 15,27 mm. Hasil uji evaluasi formula serum memiliki stabilitas yang baik selama cycling test dan memenuhi syarat uji organoleptik, homogenitas, pH, daya sebar, daya lekat, dan viskositas. Pada penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa serum ekstrak etanol 70% daun matoa memiliki aktivitas antibakteri dengan kategori kuat dan uji statistik anova menunjukkan ketiga formulasi berbeda signifikan, hasil optimasi basis terbaik untuk sediaan serum adalah xanthan gum konsentrasi 0,8%./Acne is a skin condition caused by the accumulation of oil on the face, which leads to clogged pores and triggers inflammation and bacterial growth, including the bacterium Staphylococcus aureus. Matoa leaves (Pometia pinnata J.R.Forst. & G.Forst.) contain flavonoids, tannins, saponins, alkaloids, and steroids that exhibit antibacterial properties. One of the local therapies of interest in addressing acne issues is serum preparation. Serum has a localized effect on body parts such as the face, shoulders, and neck. The aim of this study was to determine the antibacterial activity of 70% ethanol extract serum preparations from matoa leaves against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. The matoa leaf extract was obtained using the maceration method, and the antibacterial testing was conducted using the well diffusion method. The 70% ethanol leaf extract serum formulations F1 (1%), F2 (1.5%), and F3 (2%) exhibited strong antibacterial activity with respective inhibition zones of 13.07 mm, 14.28 mm, and 15.27 mm. The results of the serum formulation evaluation showed good stability during the cycling test and met the requirements for organoleptic testing, homogeneity, pH, spreadability, adhesion, and viscosity. In this study, it can be concluded that the 70% ethanol extract serum of matoa leaves exhibits strong antibacterial activity, and the ANOVA statistical test indicates that the three formulations differ significantly. The optimal base formulation for the serum preparation is xanthan gum at a concentration of 0.8%.
