Abstract
Bibir sering terpapar sinar matahari, khususnya UVB, yang dapat menyebabkan
hiperpigmentasi dan pecah-pecah. Tinted lip balm dengan kandungan SPF
menjadi solusi perlindungan. Buah markisa ungu (Passiflora edulis Sims)
mengandung flavonoid yang berfungsi sebagai tabir surya. Penelitian ini
bertujuan untuk mengetahui nilai Sun Protection Factor (SPF) ekstrak dan
sediaan etanol 96% buah markisa ungu, mengevaluasi nilai SPF dalam sediaan
tinted lip balm yang mengandung ekstrak tersebut, serta menilai mutu fisiknya.
Etanol 96% digunakan sebagai pelarut dengan metode maserasi, pengujian nilai
SPF-nya menggunakan spektrofotometri UV-Vis panjang gelombang 290–320
nm. Tinted lip balm diformulasi dengan perbandingan basis beewax dan vaseline
album yaitu B1 (2%:10%), B2 (5%:15%) dan B3 (8%:20%). Evaluasi melalui uji
organoleptik, homogenitas, pH, daya lekat, daya sebar, dan stabilitas diperoleh
basis terbaik B3 (8%:20%). Nilai SPF ekstrak etanol 96% buah markisa ungu
konsentrasi 5000ppm; 24,31, 6000 ppm; 31,94, dan 8000 ppm 36,47. Nilai SPF
15 sampai >30 termasuk kategori perlindungan sedang hingga tinggi. Nilai SPF
sediaan F1: 26,64, F2: 26,71, F3: 31,80, dengan demikian ekstrak etanol 96%
buah markisa ungu menunjukkan terdapatnya potensi sebagai bahan aktif tabir
surya. Hasil uji evaluasi dan uji statistik yang dilakukan sediaan tinted lip balm
ekstrak etanol 96% buah markisa ungu dapat disimpulkan memenuhi syarat. / Lips are often exposed to sunlight, especially UVB, which can cause
hyperpigmentation and chapping. Tinted lip balm with SPF is a protective solution.
Purple passion fruit (Passiflora edulis Sims) contains flavonoids that function as
sunscreens. This study aims to determine the Sun Protection Factor (SPF) value of
extracts and 96% ethanol preparations of purple passion fruit, evaluate the SPF
value in tinted lip balm preparations containing these extracts, and assess their
physical quality. Ethanol 96% was used as a solvent with maceration method,
testing the SPF value using UV-Vis spectrophotometry with wavelength of 290-320
nm. Tinted lip balm was formulated with a base ratio of beewax and vaseline album,
namely B1 (2%:10%), B2 (5%:15%) and B3 (8%:20%). Evaluation through
organoleptic, homogeneity, pH, adhesion, spreadability, and stability tests
obtained the best base B3 (8%:20%). The SPF value of 96% ethanol extract of
purple passion fruit concentrations of 5000 ppm; 24.31, 6000 ppm; 31.94, and 8000
ppm 36.47. SPF values of 15 to >30 are categorized as moderate to high protection.
The SPF values of the preparations F1: 26,64, F2: 26,71, F3: 31.80, thus the 96%
ethanol extract of purple passion fruit shows the potential as a sunscreen active
ingredient. The results of evaluation tests and statistical tests carried out on tinted
lip balm preparations of 96% ethanol extract of purple passion fruit can be
concluded to be qualified.
