Abstract

This fieldwork report is written based on the security setting deployed in PT. Globalindo Technology, Jakarta. The purpose of configuring the security setting is to manage access to company’s network resources, either from internal staffs or outsiders, using the capabilities offered by Windows 2000 Server operating system environment. The setting includes password and policy management in the network domain used by the company. This report will thoroughly discuss the setting and policy configuration needed to prevent unauthorized network access that may lead to dangerous consequences for the company, such as loss of data or confidentiality breach. In addition to security configuration setting, suggestion to form a more organized hierarchy of network domain’s objects is also offered in order to get a directory of users that really represents the company’s internal structure.
