Abstract

Longevity risk, morbidity risk, dan mortality risk merupakan tantangan utama yang dihadapi perusahaan asuransi ketika mengelola aset dan kewajiban terkait pembayaran manfaat asuransi. Penelitian ini menggunakan strategi natural hedging untuk menjaga keseimbangan antara ekspektasi kewajiban dan aset perusahaan dengan pendekatan teori imunisasi Redington. Adapun tujuan utama dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menentukan komposisi optimal antara asuransi penyakit kritis dan asuransi kombinasi jiwa-pensiun sehingga mampu meminimalkan risiko-risiko terkait kedua produk asuransi tersebut. Pada penelitian ini, model mortalitas yang digunakan adalah double decrement, dengan exit diagnosis penyakit kritis dan meninggal selain akibat penyakit kritis. Strategi natural hedging dilakukan dengan pendekatan satu variabel dan dua variabel. Proyeksi tingkat mortalitas dan morbiditas dilakukan menggunakan model M7 untuk pria, sedangkan untuk wanita, mortalitas dimodelkan dengan model Renshaw-Haberman (RH) dan model M7 untuk morbiditas. Penelitian ini juga mengevaluasi perbedaan komposisi produk optimal antara kedua pendekatan serta membandingkan hasilnya pada kelompok pria dan wanita. Ditemukan bahwa pendekatan dua variabel lebih baik dibanding satu variabel karena lebih stabil, selain itu pada usia yang sama, k-ratio pada wanita cenderung lebih tinggi dibanding pria. Hasil penelitian ini juga menunjukkan bahwa komposisi optimal antara kedua produk, yaitu k-ratio, yang diperoleh melalui strategi natural hedging mampu meminimalisir risiko yang dihadapi perusahaan. / Longevity risk, morbidity risk, and mortality risk are critical challenges faced by insurance companies in managing assets and liabilities associated with insurance benefit payments. This study employs a natural hedging strategy to ensure equilibrium between the expected liabilities and assets of the company, utilizing the Redington Immunization theory. The primary objective of this research is to determine the optimal product composition between critical illness insurance and life-pension combination insurance to mitigate the risks inherent in these insurance products. The study adopts a double decrement mortality model, which accounts for exits due to the diagnosis of critical illness and death from causes unrelated to critical illness. The natural hedging strategy is implemented using both single-variable and two-variable approaches. Mortality and morbidity projections are carried out using the M7 model for males, while for females, mortality is modeled with the Renshaw-Haberman (RH) model, and morbidity is modeled using the M7 model. Furthermore, the study evaluates the differences in optimal product composition between the two approaches and compares the outcomes across male and female cohorts. The findings indicate that the two-variable approach demonstrates superior stability compared to the single-variable approach. Additionally, at equivalent ages, the k-ratio for females is generally higher than that for males. The results confirm that the optimal product composition, expressed as the k-ratio, derived from the natural hedging strategy effectively minimizes the risks faced by insurance companies.
