Abstract

Instrumen penelitian berupa Rekam medik pasien ulkus diabetik dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling/ Background: Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a chronic condition characterized by high blood sugar levels (hyperglycemia) and glucose intolerance. It occurs either because the pancreas cannot produce insulin adequately or because the body cannot use the insulin produced effectively, or both1 One of the most common forms of complications in patients with uncontrolled diabetes is diabetic foot ulcers. A diabetic foot ulcer is a description of when a diabetic patient has a wound or damage to the skin surface of the foot, where there is a difficult recovery process. Diabetic foot ulcers can also be classified based on the main factors in their formation such as loss of protective sensation (LOPS), peripheral arterial disease (PAD) and infection. This complication is associated with age, gender and certain comorbidities 2. So that it can involve amputation as an alternative to diabetes mellitus complications, amputation is the act of removing or nullifying a body part that has suffered an accident or certain disease conditions to improve the patient's condition. Objective: To determine the relationship between HbA1C levels and amputation in diabetic foot ulcer patients at RSUS. Methods: This study used a cross-sectional design study with unpaired categorical comparative analytics. The research instrument was the medical record of diabetic ulcer patients using purposive sampling technique.
