This research was motivated by worker remuneration problems in Selatpanjang City, Tebing Tinggi Subdistrict, Meranti Islands Regency, Riau Province, which have not been resolved by the local government, where there are still many workers who earn below the Minimum Wage Law. The method used in this research is Normative-Empirical, which prioritized Secondary Data that is collected by the study of literature, in the form of Primary Sources, Secondary Sources, and Tertiary Sources. This Secondary Data also supported by Primary Data, where the data was collected by an interview with workers of Selatpanjang City. After analyzing the data, the result shows that the employer in Selatpanjang City didn’t pay the wage according to the Minimum Wage Law in Selatpanjang City. Furthermore, the employer also didn’t submit a written application for a suspension of the Minimum Wage Law. Moreover, the government, vice-regent of Meranti Islands, already know that there are still employers who didn’t pay the wage according to the Minimum Wage Law; but they still not launch the legal action and give punishment to the employer. The problem will be solved if the employer submits a written application for a suspension, so that the employee can do the procedure according to the law. The role of government is also important in this wage systems, they must give punishment to the employee who didn’t pay the wage according to the Minimum Wage Law.
