Abstract

Proses komunikasi antarpribadi antara orang tua dan anak penyandang autisme mempunyai keterbatasan dalam menyampaian pesan dan menangkapan pesan. Proses komunikasinya belum mampu dalam memberikan umpan balik terhadap pesan yang disampaikan. Orangtua sulit untuk melakukan komunikasi dengan anak penyandang autisme yang mempunyai karakteristik hiperaktif dan pasif dalam kegiatan belajar di rumah. Dalam penelitian ini terdapat dua responden yaitu Imelda dengan karakteristik hiperaktif serta suportif dalam prose belajar. Selain itu, Jessica dengan karakter yang pasif sulit dalam berumpan balik dalam proses komunikasi. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui tentang proses komunikasi antarpribadi antara orangtua dengan anak penyandang autisme yang aktif dan pasif. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan konsep dari elemen komunikasi antarpribadi Devito dengan menggunakan pendekatan desktiptif kualitatif, dengan melakukan In-Depth interview dan pengamatan langsung sebagai teknik pengumpulan data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa proses komunikasi antarpribadi berlangsung pada orang tua dengan anak penyandang autisme. Dalam proses komunikasi, orangtua sebagai sumber pengirim pesan dan anak sebagai penerima pesan. Terdapat perbedaan dalam membentuk dan menyampaikan pesan yang baik kepada anaknya saat dalam kegitan belajar di rumah / The process of interpersonal communication between parents and children with autism has limitations in delivering messages and capturing messages. The communication process has not been able to provide feedback on delivered messages. Parents find it difficult to communicate with autism children who have hyperactive and passive characteristics. In this study there were two respondents namely Imelda with hyperactive and supportive characteristics. In the other hand, Jessica with a passive character is difficult to give feedback in communication. The purpose of this study about the process of interpersonal communication between parents and children with active and passive autism. In this study using the concept of Devito's interpersonal communication elements using a qualitative descriptive approach, by conducting In-Depth interviews and direct observation as data collection techniques. The results showed that the process of interpersonal communication took place in parents with children with autism. In the communication process, parents as the source of the sender of the message and the child as the recipient of the message. There was differences between form and deliver good massages to children while study in home.
