Abstract

In carrying out daily life, Indonesian people do transaction activities. Nowadays transaction activities have become easier since the presence of banking industry. One of private banking industries in Indonesia that has been trusted for decades in helping Indonesian people in conducting transaction processes is PT Bank Central Asia Tbk. PT Bank Central Asia Tbk has received various awards at national and international levels, which is inseperable from public support. The intern had the opportunity to work at the headquarters of PT Bank Central Asia Tbk for five months from August to December 2019 and focused on the scope of Media Relations. The main reason intern focus on the scope media relations because media is one of publics of public relations who plays an important role in telling and introducing companies to public so that people are more familiar and aware with the company's existence. This is the reason why it is important to connect and have good relations with media During internship period, intern will focus on media relations activities that carried out by BCA public relations in effort to keep connected and establish good relations with the media. After completing internship in the period mentioned earlier, intern will compare and conclude the correlation between practices with theory of media relations./Dalam menjalankan kehidupan sehari – hari, masyarakat di Indonesia pasti melakukan kegiatan transaksi. Saat ini kegiatan transaksi semakin mudah sejak kehadiran industri perbankan. Salah satu industri perbankan swasta di Indonesia yang telah dipercaya selama puluhan tahun dalam membantu para masyarakat Indonesia dalam melakukan proses transaksi adalah PT Bank Central Asia Tbk. PT Bank Central Asia Tbk telah menerima berbagai penghargaan baik di level nasional maupun internasional, yang mana hal ini tidak terlepas dari dukungan publik. Pemagang mendapat kesempatan untuk bekerja di kantor pusat PT Bank Central Asia Tbk selama lima bulan terhitung dari bulan Agustus hingga Desember 2019 dan berfokus pada ruang lingkup Media Relations. Alasan utama pemagang fokus pada ruang lingkup media relations karena media merupakan salah satu publik dari public relations yang memegang peranan penting dalam menceritakan dan memperkenalkan perusahaan kepada masyarakat sehingga masyarakat lebih mengenal dan menyadari keberadaan perusahaan. Hal ini menjadi alasan mengapa penting untuk terkoneksi dan memiliki hubungan yang baik dengan media. Selama masa magang, pemagang akan fokus pada aktivitas – aktivitas media relations yang dilakukan oleh public relations BCA sebagai upaya untuk terus terkoneksi dan terciptanya hubungan yang baik dengan media. Setelah menyelesaikan magang pada periode yang telah disebutkan sebelumnya, pemagang akan membandingkan dan menyimpulkan kolerasi antara praktik yang diikuti dengan teori dari media relations.
