Abstract

The aim of this research is to know the description of job satisfaction on the employee of PT. Matahari Department Store, Tbk. Employee job satisfaction is important for the company because it will give an impact on the development and company successes. This reseach is using quantitative method. The variable in this reseach is job satisfaction. The population of this research is employee of Merchandising and Marketing PT. Matahari Department Store, Tbk., with total sample of the study were 62 respondents. Data gathering technique used online questionnaire that containing questions about job satisfaction from the Job Description Index measurement tools that have been adapted. The research result showed that employees of the merchandising and marketing division of PT. Matahari Department Store, Tbk., which has high job satisfaction category with percentage obtained was 53.23% or as many as 33 employees, 46.77% or as many as 29 employees has moderate job satisfaction, and there was no employees who had low job satisfaction. The average job satisfaction of each dimension is, People on Your Present Job (40.95%), Work on Present Job (32.15%), Pay (31.52%), Opportunities for Promotions (24.65%), and Supervision (40.21%). If the results of the five dimensions of JDI are valued as employees job satisfaction, it can be said that most employees have high job satisfaction with people on present job and supervision. However, there were employees who have job satisfaction in low category on opportunities for promotion dimensions. / Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat gambaran kepuasan kerja karyawan PT. Matahari Department Store, Tbk. Kepuasan kerja seorang karyawan merupakan salah satu hal yang penting bagi perusahaan karena akan memberikan dampak pada keberhasilan dan berkembangnya suatu perusahaan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif. Variabel dalam penelitian ini adalah kepuasan kerja. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah karyawan Divisi Merchandising dan Marketing PT. Matahari Department Store, Tbk., dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 62 responden. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan membagikan kuesioner online yang berisi pertanyaan-pertanyaan mengenai kepuasan kerja dari alat ukur Job Description Index yang sudah diadaptasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa karyawan divisi merchandising dan marketing PT. Matahari Department Store, Tbk., yang memiliki kepuasan kerja yang tinggi sebesar 53.23% atau 33 orang, karyawan yang memiliki kepuasan kerja sedang sebesar 46.77% atau 29 orang, dan tidak ada karyawan yang memiliki kepuasan kerja rendah. Rata-rata kepuasan kerja dari setiap dimensinya adalah Rekan Kerja (40.95%), Pekerjaan Saat Ini (32.15%). Pendapatan (31.52%), Kesempatan Promosi (24.65%), dan Kualitas Supervisi (40.21%). Jika hasil dari kelima dimensi Job Description Index (JDI) disimpulkan sebagai nilai kepuasan karyawan maka sebagian besar karyawan memiliki kepuasan kerja yang tinggi dengan rekan kerja dan kualitas supervisi. Namun pada kesempatan promosi terdapat lebih banyak karyawan yang memiliki kepuasan kerja di kategori yang rendah.
