Penelitian ini dilakukan terhadap 54 partisipan lansia berusia 60 tahun atau ke atas yang tinggal di Panti Werdha. Data diperoleh dengan menggunakan alat ukur yang telah diadaptasi, diantaranya adalah Purpose in Life Test-Short Form (PIL-SF) untuk mengukur makna hidup, Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS) untuk mengukur kualitas subjective well-being aspek kognitif, dan Scale of Positive and Negative Experience (SPANE) untuk mengukur subjective well-being aspek afektif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa makna hidup memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap subjective well-being (R2 = .304, p = .000, p < .05). Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa lansia dengan makna hidup yang tinggi akan memiliki kualitas subjective well-being yang tinggi./This research study takes place on 54 participants of elderly with the range of age between 60 or above living in nursing home. Data was collected using three adapted scales, which are: Purpose in Life Test-Short Form (PIL-SF) to measure meaning in life, Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS) to determine the cognitive aspect of subjective well-being and Scale of Positive and Negative Experience (SPANE) to determine the affective aspect of subjective well-being. The result of this study found that there is a significant impact on meaning in life towards subjective well-being (R2 = .304, p = .000, p < .05). This indicates that elderly with high level of meaning in life would cause greater quality of subjective wellbeing
