ASEAN-China FTA (ACFTA) was signed in late 2004. And, it was just held on January 1, 2010. ASEAN and China has FTAs is implemented. Referred to ASEAN countries are countries, such as: Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, Vietnam, the Philippines, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand and Myanmar. ACFTA is a form of collective cooperation, as it aims to Strengthen and enhance economic cooperation, trade and investment between member states. This cooperation is a trade that, by nature, could be chances but also challenges for Indonesia. The purposes of this research are to know the challenges and opportunities for Indonesia that is related to the implementation of ACFTA as well as to identify the effect of bilateral relationship between Indonesia and China to overcome the challenges from ACFTA. The data is gained through a literature review, content analysis, and interviews with Ministry of Trade. The analysis is conducted through narrative and illustrative methods. From the data and analysis, it is found that, ACFTA is a means for Indonesia is to increase economy strength. Opportunities for Indonesia in the ACFTA is to be able to improve its economy through trade, in which, the challenge that is faced by Indonesia is to be strong in the economy, so that, it can be a leader in regional. Gaining relations in with China can be done through diplomatic and bilateral approach between two countries.
