Abstract
Pada zaman ini, banyak industri memilih opsi yang lebih ramah lingkungan untuk mengatasi penggunaaan metode kimiawi dengan menggunakan enzim. Salah satunya adalah menggunakan enzim α-amilase pada industri tekstil dan pangan. Pada percobaan ini, identifikasi dan analisis gen enzim α-amilase dari Bacillus subtilis G8 dilakukan dalam setting wet dan dry laboratory. Gen α-amilase diidentifikasi pada whole genome sequence dari Bacillus subtilis G8, dan aktivitasnya dideteksi pada ekstrak kasar dari Bacillus subtilis G8 yang dikultur di medium kulit kentang. Hasil percobaan ini membuktikan bahwa Bacillus subtilis G8 dapat memproduksi enzim α-amilase./ In the present day, industries seek for more environmentally-friendly options by forgoing chemical treatment methods in favor for enzymatic ones. One such is the use of α-amylase enzyme in textile and food industries. In this study, the identification and analysis of α-amylase enzyme of Bacillus subtilis G8 was performed in both wet and dry laboratory settings. α-amylase gene was identified in whole genome sequence of Bacillus subtilis G8, and its activity was detected in crude extract of the Bacillus subtilis G8 cultured in potato peel medium. These results strongly suggested that Bacillus subtilis G8 was capable of producing αamylase enzyme.
