Advanced in technology bring the ease for everyone, especially in accessing information and data transmission. Along with technological advances, various problems has occurred. One of the problems arise today, is the legal issue of Intellectual Property Rights. In this research there is copyright violation for the use of broadcasting work. Copyright violation committed by PT. Bhavana Andalan Klanting and Alila Villa Soori, related to PT. Inter Sports Marketing’s right as Brazil World Cup 2014 license holder. The main argument made by PT. Bhavana Andalan Klanting and Alila Villa Soori convince that the use of broadcasts on their hotel’s room is not intended for commercial purposes, in this context what they used is free to air television broadcast. This research tries to examine the case based on Copyright Law Number 28 of 2014.
