Abstract

Armed conflicts that happening in the world today have been getting more attention than it ever before. The abstract picture of armed forces against each other is now become clearer to the eyes of the world. The war is more than just battle between soldiers, the war is a violation of human rights. Many children in war zone not has been exposed to the war in very close and harmful way. Convention on the Rights of the Children is one of the indicator that the society start to look at human rights in more detailed view. UNICEF as one of UN agency has been leading in the effort to implement and encourage others in implementing the CRC. This thesis attempts to show the work of UNICEF in protecting children from armed conflicts and its significance to child protection in broader issues.
