Abstract

The child is one of the legal subjects that are required to obtain protection. In it happen in Indonesia, the necessary measures be maintained and laws and regulations to ensure observance. The Government established an independent State Assistance Agency which is independent and serves to assist the government in improving the effectiveness of Indonesian child protection. The organs became the Indonesian Commission on Child Protection / KPAI stands for Komisi Perlindungan Anak Indonesia. KPAI is an auxiliary State Organs in Indonesia established as a manifestation of Article 74 of Law No. 23 of 2002 which reads: "In order to improve the effectiveness of the implementation of child protection, this law is established by the Independent Commission for the Protection of Indonesian Children". KPAI was born as a State Organs whose focus on protecting children's rights is one of the phenomena that can be found in the reform era, where public confidence in the Indonesian Government is decreasing. KPAI as one of the State Organs in Indonesia auxiliary independence has the duty and authority as the supervisor of the Government in the implementation of the policy relating to the protection of children. This research will analyze the main tasks and functions of the Indonesian Commission on Child Protection as well as the implementation of the main tasks and functions. This research will use normative legal research methods. This research will use normative legal research methods. Type of research used in this research is analytical descriptive research. The data that will be used as the this research is secondary data. The technique or method used to collect secondary data is literature study. The technique or method used to collect secondary data is literature study. The analysis used in this research is a qualitative analysis of types.
