Abstract
Masa transisi dari sekolah dasar ke sekolah menengah pertama merupakan proses penting yang harus di lalui oleh siswa. Adanya perubahan tidak hanya dalam aspek psikologis, biologis, dan sosial, tetapi juga ada perubahan dalam aspek akademik. Perubahan dalam aspek akademik terlihat dari bertambahnya mata pelajaran dan guru, dan juga menekankan untuk fokus pada pencapaian dan performa akademik. Perubahan ini membutuhkan strategi untuk dapat di lalui secara efektif. Namun, pengetahuan dan penggunaan akan strategi saja tidak cukup. Perlu adanya gairah dan ketahanan dalam menggunakan strategi tersebut. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh dari grit terhadap metakognisi pada siswa-siswi sekolah menengah pertama. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif dengan jumlah partisipan sebanyak 77 orang yang duduk di bangku SMP dan berstandar nasional yang berdomisili di Jabodetabek. Instrumen penelitian yang di gunakan adalah Short Grit Scale dan Junior Metacognitive Awareness Inventory. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa grit secara signifikan mempengaruhi metakognisi (F(1, 75) = 39.566, p < .000) dengan R2 = .345. Hal tersebut menunjukan bahwa semakin individu menggunakan grit, maka penggunaan metakognisi juga meningkat. Penemuan yang berkaitan dengan fenomena ini di diskusikan. / Transition period from primary school to middle school is an important process that pupils must go through. Not only there are changes in biological, psychological, and social aspects, but there is also a change in academic aspect that demands pupils to focus on academic performance and academic achievement. These changes need knowledge of strategies in order to get through transition period effectively. Yet knowledge and the use of strategies are not enough. It needs passion and perseverance in using strategies. This research aims to see the influence of grit on metacognition in middle school. Research method of this research is quantitative, with 77 subjects from both private and public school in Jabodetabek with national curriculum. Research instruments that are used in this research are Short Grit Scale and Junior Metacognitve Awareness Inventory. The result of this research shows that grit significantly influences metacognition (F(1, 75) = 39.566, p < .000) with R2 = .345. This result shows that as pupils use grit, it drives pupils to use metacognition also. Results that related to this phenomenon is discussed.
