Teeth artisans are those who do the work in the sector of dental health, which does not have an official certificate from Department of Health or educational institution that is recognized by the Department of Health. In addition, Teeth artisan does not have the provision of dentistry in accordance with medical principles and skills. Problem in this research is legal protection against the work of teeth artisan. According from problem in this research, and then purpose of this research is to analyze legal protection against the existence of the work teeth artisan in Indonesia. This research is a normative legal research or library research, review from primary legal material. Based on result of the research, the legal protection of teeth artisan in Indonesia is protected by the law. The Constitutional Court Verdict number 40/PUU-X/2012 did revision in article 73 verses 2 Law number 29 year 2004 concerning Medical Practice that gives legal protection to teeth artisans to do their job, if they got license from the government. In its legal considerations, teeth artisan is protected by the constitution as human rights to work. Furthermore, Constitutional Court classified teeth artisan as one of traditional health care. The limited ability of teeth artisan can be solved through the development, licensing and supervision. In the verdict number 24 P/HUM/2012, the Supreme Court considered that teeth artisan, as one of traditional health care should be protected by the state based on article 59 and 60 Law number 36 year 2009 concerning Health. As a traditional health care, teeth artisan job regulated in Government Regulation number 103 year 2014 concerning Traditional Health Care and Decree of the Ministry of Health number 1076/MENKES/SK/VII/2003. Moreover, In order to regulate the teeth artisan, Ministry of Health sets out The Regulation of the Ministry of Health number 39 year 2014 concerning development, supervision and licensing the work of teeth artisan
