Abstract
Penelitian ini dilaksanakan guna melihat dan menganalisa gambaran proses seleksi pada PT Caturkarda Depo Bangunan Serpong dengan periode waktu September hingga Desember 2018. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang dilakukan, peneliti menemukan adanya kebutuhan untuk meningkatkan kualitas kerja karyawan yang dapat dilakukan dengan cara meningkatkan kualitas proses seleksi. Penelitian dilakukan dengan cara menerapkan semi-structured interview kepada tiga orang subjek yaitu, dua orang supervisor HRD dan satu orang manager HRD pada perusahaan yang bersangkutan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya beberapa aspek yang sudah sesuai dan beberapa hal yang belum memenuhi kriteria proses seleksi oleh Spector yang menitikberatkan seleksi kepada dua elemen penting, yaitu criterion dan predictor. Hal yang sudah sesuai dengan teori ialah adanya proses job analysis untuk menentukan criterion, penggunaan metode seleksi berupa interview dan assessment atau tes, dan penerapan lebih dari satu bentuk assessment, yaitu biographical information form, assessment center, dan work sample. Terdapat pula beberapa hal yang belum memenuhi kriteria yang ditekankan dalam teori Spector, antara lain penggunaan formulir aplikasi sebagai panduan wawancara dan penggunaan tes yang belum dapat memenuhi target dari proses seleksi yang diinginkan perusahaan, yaitu mengidentifikasi karakter kandidat. Dengan demikian, hal ini mendorong pihak HRD PT Caturkarda Depo Bangunan gerai Serpong untuk meningkatkan kualitas proses seleksi dalam perusahaan. / The purpose of this study is to observe and analyze the selection process in PT Caturkarda Depo Bangunan Serpong from September to December 2018. The result of this research shows that there is a need to increase employee's work performance by improving the quality of selection process. This research was conducted using a semi-structured interview to three subjects, two HRD supervisors and an HRD manager of the company. According to the result, there are aspects that are in accordance with Spector's selection theory but some aspects are not. Spector emphasizes the selection process into two important elements, criterion and predictor. Aspects that are in accordance to Spector's selection theory are job analysis process that has been done by the company to find criterion, using interview and assessment as selection methods, and using more than one assessment processes (biographical information form, assessment center, and work sample). There are also aspects that do not accord with the theory, such as the use of application form as the interview guideline for selection process and the use of test that has not reach the company's selection target which is to identify the character of candidates. Therefore, this condition or phenomenon has encourage the HRD division of PT Caturkarda Depo Bangunan Serpong to improve the quality of selection process in the company.
