Abstract

Makna hidup tidak hanya dapat ditemukan dalam setiap keadaan yang menyenangkan dan membahagiakan, tetapi juga dapat ditemukan dalam keadaan yang tak menyenangkan atau di dalam penderitaan. Maka tidak menutup kemungkinan makna hidup pun dapat ditemukan pada penderita penyakit ginjal kronik yang menjalani terapi hemodialisis. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengeksplorasi dan memahami secara mendalam pengalaman pencarian makna hidup pada penderita penyakit ginjal kronik yang menjalani terapi hemodialisis. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif degan pendekatan fenomenologi. Penelitian dilakukan pada tiga orang partisipan dan ditemukan empat tema utama yaitu pengalaman tidak menyenangkan, upaya pencarian makna hidup, menemukan makna hidup, dan menjalani hidup bermakna. Peneliti berharap hasil penelitian ini dapat digunakan untuk lebih memahami kondisi penderita penyakit ginjal kronik dan bagi pemberi layanan kesehatan seperti perawat untuk memberikan asuhan keperawatan secara maksimal./ The meaning of life is not only found in every state of satisfaction and happiness, but it can also be found in a state of suffering or not satisfying. This does not rule out the possibility that the meaning of life can be found in patients with chronic kidney disease undergoing haemodialysis therapy. The purpose of this study is to explore and to understand in depth the experience of the search of the meaning of life in chronic kidney disease patients undergoing haemodialysis therapy. This research uses descriptive qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. The research is done on three participants and found four main themes: unpleasant experience, the search for the meaning of life, finding meaning in life, and living a meaningful life. The researcher expect that the results of this study can be used to fully understand the condition of the patients with chronic kidney disease and for health care providers to provide maximal nursing care.
