Abstract
Many women are active and seen in public spaces. This is because today a woman starts competing for education to improve academic performance and soft skills so they can have a career in the world of work. In the film Critical Eleven (2017), there is an illustration of career women played by the main character. This film is interesting to raise because besides representing career women, in this film there is also gender equality in a work environment where a woman is given freedom of rights to work outside the home. This research was conducted using a descriptive qualitative approach. The research method used is a semiotic analysis method. In this study, the authors analyzed the marks in the film Critical Eleven with the meaning triangle by Charles Sanders Pierce, that is, representamen, object and interpretant in twelve pieces of the scene. The results of this study indicate that Critical Eleven films can represent a career woman through verbal code (dialogue) and nonverbal codes (behavior) based on the standardization of career women, namely in terms of appearance, insight, association, handling problems, and attitudes through characteristics physical, professional, how to dress, property and how to communicate that is contained in Anya's character. In addition, Film Critical Eleven also proves that a woman can exercise her rights in the domestic and public areas or work like a man.
