Abstract

Terrorism has become one of the most dangerous issues in this world. Its growth had increased along with the development of radicalism. One of the terrorist group that classified as an Islamic radicalism is Taliban. Its brutality and connection with the 9/11 tragedy had attracted all the security concerns among the states around the world that led to the security assistance. This writing will focus on the decision of the United States troops drawdown from Afghanistan to find its impact on the growth of the Taliban. The purposes of this research are to explain the factors that make the terrorists succeed in achieving their goals and to explain the nature of the Taliban’s power after the drawdown of U.S. troops from Afghanistan. This research is based on the perspective of international security. The analysis is explained based on the data that gathered from data collecting technique. The data and analysis have shown that the success factors of terrorism are the state sponsors and media tension, and the U.S. troops drawdown is not merely a chance for the Taliban to get the victory. Not all the U.S. troops are withdrawn, and the U.S. had promised to assist the Afghan forces. All of these efforts by the state and non state actors will a way to improve the security in Afghanistan.
