Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan sebuah produk lampu yang dibuat dengan memanfaatkan pengolahan limbah gelas plastik menjadi lembaranlembaran yang dapat diolah menjadi bahan utama pada lampu. Latar belakang diangkatnya gelas plastik sebagai masalah adalah karena produksi sampah gelas plastik sangatlah banyak dan belum banyak yang mengolahnya. Hal ini terjadi karena gelas plastik yang digunakan hanya sekali pakai dan kemudian dibuang. Dari eksperimen yang dilakukan dapat dilihat bahwa pengolahan yang paling tepat adalah dengan menggunakan panas dalam suhu sekitar 160-170ºC agar meleleh dan dapat dicetak. Setelahnya penulis melakukan studi desain membuat modul yang dapat disusun untuk membentuk lampu, setelah desain sudah didapatkan, desain tersebut kemudian diaplikasikan pada plastik yang sudah dicetak untuk dibuatkan modul yang disusun untuk membuat produk lampu./This research is intended to develop a lamp by utilizing the process of heating and molding shredded plastic cups into sheets. The background why plastic cups were being used is because the quantity of cups being discarded everyday and that there is not many people process it, This happens because the plastic cups are only used once and then thrown away. From the experiments conducted it can be seen that the most appropriate treatment is to use heat in temperatures around 160-170ºC to melt the shredded plastic and it can be molded into sheets. Afterward, author did sketches and studies to make modules that can be arranged into a lamp shape, after the design is selected, the design is applied to the plastic sheet to make modules, that is used to make the lamp.
