Abstract

This thesis discusses about the role of Migrant Care and Komnas Perempuan in dealing with an issue or a case of human trafficking that involve Indonesian workers as the victim. The issue of human trafficking or practice of Crime of Trafficking in Persons is a global issue that become a threat to the national security. There are some actions that does not abide to the employment contracts for the Indonesian worker laborers in Middle East. Labor exploitation, sexual abuse, working without documentation provided, and unpaid salaries are the kind of problems that Indonesian laborers would face in Middle East. In relation to these problems, this thesis will identify the occurrence of human trafficking in Middle East, identify the performance of the Indonesian government in providing protection, and understand the role of Migrant Care and Komnas Perempuan in dealing with the issue of human trafficking in Middle East. To collect data, the research method used are qualitative approach. The author also conduct interviews with sources from Migrant Care and Komnas Perempuan. The conclusion of this thesis is the Indonesian workers in Middle East are particularly vulnerable without protection, thus they become easy to be involved in human trafficking. Therefore, the role of Migrant Care and Komnas Perempuan is to seek protection and dealing the problems that are common in Indonesian workers in Middle East.
