Fenomena yang melatarbelakangi penelitian ini adalah isu critical regionalism (kritik regionalisme) pada rumah toko yang mengalami perubahan fungsi dan juga bentuk akibat interfensi pemilik rumah toko. Penelitian ini berfokus pada kritikal regionalisme pada rumah toko dan komponen yang membentuk rumah toko yaitu level konfigurasi blok dan elemen spasial. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembalikan identitas rumah toko sebagai representasi arsitektur gabungan antara hunian dan komersil. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori mengenai regulasi, elemen fisik, gabungan fungsi dan ketinggian level Rumah Toko. Hal yang harus diperhatikan dalam regulasi Rumah Toko adalah lebar, panjang, luas area, ruang terbuka, Panjang deret, ruang antara, tinggi lantai, set-back dan jarak terhadap jalan. Elemen fisik Rumah Toko terdiri dari pintu depan, ruang Hall, area service, ruang belakang, kamar-kamar, roof deck, teras dan sirkulasi. Karakter fisik Rumah Toko yang dijelaskan dari pendekatan critical regionalism yang mempunyai 5 elemen utama yaitu akses dan denah, dinding, atap, lanskap dan iklim. Objek studi yang diteliti pada penelitian ini adalah Rumah Toko Gading Serpong karena telah mengalami perubahan fungsi dan juga bentuk akibat banyaknya penggabungan deret dan reklame pada fasad bangunan. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah perlu adanya perancangan lebih lanjut untuk memperbaiki ruang dalam, aplikasi dinding, penempatan reklame dan penghawaan dalam rumah toko untuk mengembalikan identitas rumah toko secara regional. / The phenomenon underlying this research is the issue of critical regionalism (criticism of regionalism) in store houses that have changed functions and also due to the interference of shopkeepers. This study focuses on the critical regionalism of shop houses and the components that make up shop houses, namely the level of block configurations and spatial elements. The purpose of this study is to restore the identity of the shop house as a combined architectural representation of residential and commercial. This study uses theories about regulation, physical elements, combined functions and storehouse level heights. Things that must be considered in the regulation of Shop Houses are width, length, area, open space, length of series, intermediate space, floor height, set-back and distance to the road. The physical elements of the Shop House consist of the front door, the Hall room, the service area, the back room, the rooms, the roof deck, the terrace and the circulation. The physical characteristics of the Shophouse are explained from the critical regionalism approach which has 5 main elements namely access and floor plans, walls, roofs, landscapes and climate. The object of study examined in this study is Gading Serpong Shop House because it has undergone changes in function and shape due to the large number of series and billboards combined in the building facade. The results of this study are the need for further design to improve the interior space, wall applications, billboard placement and handling in the shop house to restore the identity of the shophouse regionally.
