Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi pada era digital 4.0 membuat segala sesuatu mudah untuk didapatkan. Internet dan gadget sudah menjadi platform utama yang dapat mendukung kita dalam mencari sumber informasi, termasuk memfasilitasi edukasi anak. Pengalaman aktivitas untuk seorang anak sangat penting. Aktivitas yang dilakukan anak diantara rumah dan sekolah adalah aktivitas ekstrakurikuler (ekskul). Sedangkan untuk menyeimbangkan home dan school, anak memerlukan third places. Third place seharusnya penting bagi anak, namun secara terpaksa third places anak berada di tempat ekskul, namun belum tentu tempat ekskul memiliki kriteria child-friendly yang cukup memadai untuk aktivitas anak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan rekomendasi perancangan tempat ekstrakurikuler sebagai children third places. Tempat ekstrakurikuler sebagai children third places seharusnya dapat mengintegrasikan aktivitas belajar dan bermain sehingga anak mendapatkan berbagai pengalaman dan pilihan aktivitas agar dapat meningkatkan keterampilan dan interaksi sosial anak. Metode penelitian yang digunakan oleh penulis adalah mengobservasi kualitas ruang dan aktvitas anak di tempat ekstrakurikuler baik ruang indoor dan outdoor. Kualitas ruang aktivitas anak memiliki beberapa kriteria yang mencukupi namun belum sepenuhnya memenuhi kriteria sebagai tempat ketiga anak. Penelitian ini menggunakan konsep perancangan ruang aktivitas ekstrakurikuler dengan memiliki kedua ruang indoor dan outdoor. Penulis mencoba untuk membuat 2 alternatif desain yang kemudian dikembangkan menjadi satu desain final dan juga hasil analisis teori dan studi kasus. Konsep ide awal perancangan menggunakan grid sesuai dengan ukuran beberapa ruang aktivitas digabungkan dengan shared space yang kemudian menjadi satu cluster ruang, lalu menyesuaikan dengan kebutuhan program ruang. Konsep ini diharapkan dapat menjadi referensi desain baru yang efektif sehingga dapat memenuhi kebutuhan tempat ketiga anak. / Technology development in digital era 4.0 cause everything to be easily accessed. Internet and gadget has been a main platform which helps us to gain any information including educating children sudah. Children will mostly spend their time at home at school, then they will continue to play gadget for the rest of the day. Meanwhile, children’s experience in activity is so important. Nowadays, besides home and school, children need third place, but children’s third place had mostly been taken in extracurricular places. Hence, a lot of extracurricular places is not child friendly as children’s third places. This research aim to give design recommendation for extracurricular place that must meet the criteria of children’s third places. Extracurricular place for children must have both indoor and outdoor space which integrates learning and playing activity for children. It will increases children’s social interaction and skill. This research’s method is by observing the quality of indoor and outdoor space in study cases. The result of analysis is both indoor and outdoor spaces in extracurricular place somehow has not meet the criteria of children’s third place. The idea of the concept is designing extracurricular place must have both indoor and outdoor spaces that meets each criteria as children’s third place. The author gives two alternatives of design recommendation then being developed to become the final design. The initial concept is by using square grid from several activity room space which then connected to one shared spaces and gives results to one cluster space. Afterwards being adjusted based on programming. The author hopes this concept will become a new effective design reference that will be able to fulfill the needs of children’s third place.
