Abstract

Entering 2 years of age is the ideal time for child to develop their gross motor skills. At that time, children can already do some basic movements. A ways that can be done to improve children's gross motor skills is to develop the four gross motor elements. Balance bike is one of the instrument that can fulfill all of these elements. Therefore balance bike is a tool that can be used to train these abilities. However, through an observation that the author do, the authors found that there were difficulties in the child's ability to learn to ride the balance bike.. These problems could hinder the development of their capabilities. Therefore, the authors designed a balance bike that can answer the problems that exist during the observation. / Memasuki usia 2 tahun merupakan masa yang ideal pada anak untuk mengembangkan kemampuan motorik kasarnya. Pada masa tersebut, anak sudah dapat melakukan dasar gerak. Cara yang dapat dilakukan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan motorik kasar anak yaitu dengan mengembangkan ke-empat unsur motorik kasar. Sepeda keseimbangan merupakan salah satu sarana yang dapat memenuhi seluruh unsur tersebut. Maka dari itu sepeda keseimbangan merupakan sarana yang dapat digunakan untuk melatih kemampuan tersebut. Namun, melalui observasi yang penulis lakukan pada anak 2 tahun saat mencoba sepeda tersebut untuk yang pertama kalinya, penulis menemukan bahwa ada kesulitan pada kemampuan anak untuk belajar mengendarai sepeda keseimbangan. Permasalahan tersebut tentunya dapat menghambat pengembangan kemampuan tersebut. Maka dari itu penulis merancang sarana sepeda keseimbangan yang dapat menjawab masalah-masalah yang ada selama observasi. Dari hasil produk akhir yang penulis rancang diharapkan Anak mendapat rangsangan untuk mengenal dan mengendarai sepeda keseimbangan dengan benar, serta turut merancang metode stimulus untuk membantu meningkatkan kemampuan motorik kasar anak.
