Abstract

Industri hotel di Indonesia mulai mengembangkan hotel butik untuk memberi suasana baru bagi masyarakat. Hotel The Akmani adalah sebuah hotel yang berada di pusat kota Jakarta dan masuk dalam kawasan cagar budaya Menteng. Maka dari itu, sulit bagi hotel ini untuk mempertahankan karakternya sebagai hotel butik, karena banyak aktivitas bisnis dan kedinasan yang dilakukan di hotel ini. Perancangan ini ditujukan untuk mengembalikan citra hotel The Akmani menjadi hotel butik dengan mengambil identitas lokasi hotel ini. / The hotel industry in Indonesia began to develop boutique hotel to present a new atmosphere for the community. Hotel The Akmani is a hotel located in the center of Jakarta and within the cultural heritage area of Menteng. Therefore, it is difficult for the hotel to retain its character as a boutique hotel, because of the many businesses and government activities that is done in this hotel. The design aimed to restore the image of Hotel The Akmani into a boutique hotel by taking the site identity. Data collection was done by visiting the hotel, to analyze the issues there and the interview with the hotel management and visitors to obtain the necessary data. All the data obtained were then processed to get the new designs. Analysis of the new design is also done based on the responses from the visitors of the hotel. The results of this design shows that the location of the hotel that initially can shift the image of the hotel The Akmani, can precisely be the basis to restore the image of the hotel to be a boutique hotel with a design that not only meets the aesthetic aspects, but also aspects of the function. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara mengunjungi hotel, menganalisis masalah-masalah yang ada dan wawancara dengan pihak pengelola dan pengunjung hotel untuk memperoleh data yang diperlukan. Semua data yang diperoleh kemudian diolah untuk memperoleh desain yang baru. Analisis terhadap desain yang baru juga dilakukan berdasarkan tanggapan dari para tamu hotel. Hasil perancangan ini menunjukkan bahwa lokasi hotel yang awalnya dapat menggeser citra hotel The Akmani, justru dapat menjadi dasar untuk mengembalikan citra hotel ini menjadi hotel butik dengan desain yang tidak hanya memenuhi aspek estetika, tetapi juga aspek fungsi. / The hotel industry in Indonesia began to develop boutique hotel to present a new atmosphere for the community.
