Globalisasi merupakan katalisator yang sangat berpengaruh terhadap perkembangan dunia, meliputi seluruh insan di dalamnya. Peradaban manusia yang semakin maju tidak luput dari pengaruhi teknologi informasi dan komunikasi. Proses penyebaran suatu ide atau identitas menjadi hal yang umum dan cepat diketahui secara meluas, terlebih hal yang melekat secara langsung pada setiap individu. Fenomena homoseksual atau kerap dikenal dengan LGBTQ+ menjadi isu hangat dalam dunia internasional yang melibatkan hampir seluruh negara-negara di dunia, termasuk Amerika Serikat dan India sebagai representatif dari negara barat dan timur. Penelitian ini mengkaji dan mendeskripsikan proses kedua negara dalam menanggapi fenomena LGBTQ+, diwarnai dengan dinamika serta tantangan sebagai pencapaian yang dapat diperhitungkan, serta bagaimana keputusan yang diambil memberikan implikasi terhadap tatanan internasional. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Informasi yang tersedia dalam laporan ini berdasarkan data yang berasal dari kajian pustaka, dokumen, jurnal, buku dan informasi dari media massa. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, ditemukan bahwa Amerika Serikat, dengan kebijakan domestik yang dituangkan oleh setiap Presiden yang menjabat, menjadi penentu besar bagi keberlangsungan identitas LGBTQ+ pada masyarakat Amerika Serikat. Polemik keberagaman budaya, kepercayaan, serta kompleksitas masyarakat di India menjadi faktor yang dipertimbangkan oleh para petinggi di India dalam menuangkan pendiriannya terhadap isu LGBTQ+. / Globalization is an influential catalyst for the world development, covering all human being in it. The human civilization that is increasingly advanced has never been separated from technologies in the field of information and communications. The process of spreading an idea or identity becomes a common thing and quickly known widely, especially things that are directly embedded in each individual. The phenomenon of homosexuality or otherwise known as LGBTQ+ is becoming a matter of contention worldwide, especially in regions, namely the United States and India as the representative of the Western and Eastern country respectively. This study will examine and describe the factors that contribute to the ways that both of the aforementioned countries deals with the LGBTQ+ phenomenon, examining the impacts of each and every decision made and the challenges that comes with it. This study uses qualitative approach. The information available in this study is based on data derived from literature reviews, journals, books and information from the mass media. Based on the results of the research found that the domestic policy set forth by the President has always been the determining factor for the betterment and the sustainability of the LGBTQ+ community for the citizens of the United States. Meanwhile, the cultural diversity combined with complexity and belief of the people of India are the key factors and considered heavily by the higher-ups as the determinant or stance in responding the phenomenon of LGBTQ+.
