Setiap orang pasti akan menjadi tua dan memasuki fase senior. Para senior juga memiliki kebutuhan khusus, seiring dengan bertambahnya usia dan penurunan fisik. Pariwisata menjadi penting bagi senior karena menjadi ajang rekreasi dan refleksi. Meski demikian, saat ini masih belum banyak yang memperhatikan mengenai konsep wisata senior. Potensi yang besar karena jumlah penduduk senior yang terus bertambah juga diiringi dengan tantangan yang besar karena senior mempunyai kebutuhan yang berbeda dari pasar pariwisata pada umumnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui potensi dan tantangan wisata senior serta mengenal strategi yang tepat untuk mengembangkan wisata senior di Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi kasus dengan pendekatan kualitatif bersifat eksploratif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah para konsumen jasa Senior Tour dan komunitas Happy Forever dan beberapa informan ahli. Objek dari penelitian ini adalah kondisi wisata senior dalam jasa Senior Tour dan komunitas Happy Forever. Hasil dari penelitian ini ialah wisata senior memiliki potensi yang bisa dikembangkan, tantangan yang bisa dilalui, dan strategi yang bisa diterapkan untuk menunjang pengembangan wisata senior. Wisatawan senior harus dilayani dengan mematuhi protokol HSE dan cara pemasaran menggunakan teknik human to human communication. / Everyone will surely grow old and enter the senior phase. The seniors also have special needs, along with age and physical decline. Tourism becomes important for seniors because it becomes a chance to do the recreation or reflection. However, at this time, there are not many people pay attention to the concept of senior tourism. The great opportunities caused by the increasing of the senior citizen’s number also followed by the great challenges because seniors have different needs from the tourism market in general. This study aims to determine the opportunities and challenges of senior tourism and recognize appropriate strategies for developing senior tourism in Indonesia. This study uses a case study method with a qualitative exploratory approach. The subjects of this research are the consumers of the Senior Tour service and the Happy Forever community and several expert informants. The objects of this research are the conditions of senior tourism in the services of Senior Tour and the Happy Forever community. The results of this study are senior tourism has potential that can be developed, challenges that can be passed, and strategies that can be applied to support the development of senior tourism. Senior tourists must be served by complying with the HSE protocol and the marketing methods that suggested is by using human to human communication techniques.
