Abstract

Manusia dan alam selalu memiliki hubungan yang dekat secara intrinsik, tetapi terkadang hubungan tersebut tidak terolah dengan baik, mengakibatkan kerusakan alam yang hebat. Dengan isu ini, pertanyaan yang muncul adalah bagaimana manusia dapat disadarkan kembali bahwa hubungan manusia dan alam itu sangat penting? Dan apakah dengan bimbingan dari saat usia dini dapat memperbaiki hubungan manusia dan alam kedepannya? Bagaimana cara lingkungan dimana anak kecil bertumbuh besar dapat membuat mereka lebih sadar akan kesehatan lingkungan alam mereka? Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa masa kanak-kanak adalah waktu yang tepat untuk membangun kebiasaan dimana mereka dapat membuat ruang nyaman mereka di sekeliling alam. Dengan membangun memori yang menyenangkan di suasana yang dikelilingi alam melalui arsitektur, maka anak-anak akan dapat tumbuh dewasa terbiasa berada di sekitar alam. Dari penelitian ini ditemukan pula sejumlah kriteria yang perlu diperhatikan dalam perancangan suatu lingkungan edukasi yang mengintegrasikan elemen alam. Bentuk arsitektur yang dipilih sebagai studi kasus adalah sekolah dasar, masa dimana anak-anak mempelajari kehidupan sehari-hari dan menghabiskan 1/3 keseharian mereka. Proyek berlokasi di BSD, Tangerang yang merupakan area urban yang sedang berkembang dan memiliki kepadatan permukiman yang tinggi, baik permukiman horizontal maupun vertical. / Humans and nature have always had a close relationship down to their intrinsic values, but sometimes that relationship is not developed well, resulting in devastating destruction in nature. With this pressing issue, the questions that rose are how to reconnect the human’s relationship with nature? And will guiding people since their childhood fix this broken relationship? How do we condition children into loving nature through their everyday environment? Research shows that childhood is the perfect time to form habits and comfort zones. With building happy memories surrounded by nature through architecture, children are able to grow up having nature as a part of their comfort zone. Research also shows certain criteria that are needed in designing an educational environment that integrates nature. The form of architecture chosen as a case study is the elementary school building, where children learn about daily life because they spend 1/3 of their daily life in school. This project is located in BSD, Tangerang, which is considered a developing urban area. BSD also has a high population density, whether it is from horizontal or vertical housings.
