Abstract

Public Relations merupakan salah satu fungsi yang terdapat pada manajemen, yang menjadi perantara antara perusahaan atau organisasi dengan publiknya, sehingga menciptakan citra positif perusahaan atau organisasi. Dengan adanya Public Relations, maka dapat terciptanya hubungan komunikasi yang baik dan dapat menguntungkan pihak-pihak yang melakukan komunikasi. Dalam kesehariannya, Public Relations bertanggung jawab untuk memberikan pemahaman kepada publik, melakukan persuasi kepada masyarakat untuk mengubah sikap dan tingkah laku, dan menyatukan sikap dan perilaku publik agar sesuai dengan sikap dan perbuatan sebuah lembaga. Dalam hal ini fungsi Public Relations Konsulat Jenderal Republik Indonesia (KJRI) Perth berupaya mengelola event sebagai upaya menciptakan persepsi dan citra positif antara KJRI Perth dengan publiknya. Program kerja telah dijalani pemagang selama 640 jam di Konsulat Jenderal Republik Indonesia (KJRI) Perth dan pemagang ditempatkan di Divisi Fungsi Penerangan dan Sosial Budaya, Fungsi Ekonomi, dan Fungsi Protokol dan Konsuler. Hasil magang menunjukkan bahwa KJRI Perth telah menjalankan fungsi Public Relations dalam mengelola event melalui beberapa kegiatan antara lain; Festival Indonesia, Workshop Kebudayaan, dan kegiatan organisasi masyarakat. Dalam implementasi event tersebut, KJRI Perth selalu memperhatikan setiap stakeholders yang terlibat dalam berbagai penyelenggaraan event. Fungsi Public Relations yang diterapkan sangat penting bagi keberlangsungan kegiatan dan event di Konsulat Jenderal Republik Indonesia (KJRI) Perth, untuk meningkatkan reputasi dimata warga Indonesia yang tinggal di Perth, dan warga Australia Barat dan menjalin kerjasama dengan berbagai pihak./ Public Relations is one of the functions found in management, which in- between a company or organization and the public, so it creating a positive image of a company or organization. With the existence of Public Relations, it can create a good communication relationship and can benefit those who communicate. In daily life, Public Relations is responsible for providing understanding to the public, persuasion to the public to change attitudes and behavior, and unite public attitudes and behavior to match the attitudes and actions of an institution. In this case, the function of Public Relations in Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia Perth seeks to manage events in an effort to create a positive perception and image between the Indonesian Consulate General in Perth and the public. Internship has been carried out by apprentice for 640 working hours at the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia Perth and apprentice has placed in the Division of Information and Socio-Cultural Affairs, Economic Affairs, and Protocol and Consular Affairs. The internship results showed that the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Perth had carried out the Public Relations function in managing the event through several activities including: “Festival Indonesia”, cultural workshop, and Indonesia community activities. In the implementation of the event, the Consulate General in Perth always paid attention to every stakeholder involved in various events. The Public Relations function that applied is very important for the continuation of activities and events at the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia Perth, to enhance the reputation in the eyes of Indonesia citizens who live in Perth, Western Australia citizens and establish cooperation with various parties.
