This research was motivated by the many disputes and unawareness of the agrarian law which still occurs to this date. The agrarian law which regulation is stated in Undang-Undang no. 5 1960 about Basic Rules of Agrarian Principles still have so many problems on the sales of land. Especially in this case, is the legality of a statement letter and its registration rights upon a land which brought up to the purpose of this study. First is to find out if the sale of land that was done in front a village head based on a letter statement can be considered an authentic legal document or legitimate according to the national agrarian law or not. Secondly is to analyze the verdict of district court of Magelang number 19/Pdt.G/2015/PN.MGG on resolving the problem which the seller or the defendant were nowhere to be found or did not attend the trial. And lastly, to analyze the rights of land registration upon the sale of land which was done in front of a village head and not the land officials. This thesis was written using the normative juridical approach and qualitative descriptive analysis. The data that was acquired and used in this thesis were from the legal literature which was linked to the court verdict of Magelang number 19/Pdt.G/2015/PN.MGG. The result of this thesis showed that the sale of land upon the letter statement that was made in front of the village head is legitimate according to the national agrarian law as well as from the court verdict. Finally, as the court order, the verdict ruled out that the plaintiff have the right to transfer and register their name and rights on the stated land accordingly to the National Land Agency.
