Film sebagai media komunikasi massa yang bersifat visual dan audio visual yang memiliki fungsi untuk menyampaikan pesan kepada penonontonnya. Film merupakan hasil budaya dan alat ekpresi kesenian yang mengandung gabungan dari berbagai teknologi. Film merukapan pernjelmaan keterpaduan antara berbagai unsur, sastra, teater, seni rupa, teknologi dan sarana publikasi. Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan film sebagai medianya. Dengan menggunakan semiotika Roland Barthes yaitu makna denotasi, konotasi dan mitos yang bisa di ambil dari beberapa scene. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa film ini sering di pandang masyarakat umum sebagai kondisi yang terkadang muncul di tengah lingkungan kita. Mematahkan mitos bahwa kemampuan wanita utamanya single parents lebih lemah di banding laki-laki karena ia sulit membagi waktu untuk anak. Bahwa seorang ibu yang sibuk bekerja sulit berkomunikasi dengan anak dan teknologi komunikasi telepon genggam cenderung membawa efek buruk terhadap kehamornisan antara ibu dan anak./ Film as a mass communication media that incorporate visual and audio components has the function to convey messages to its audience. Movie is a product of culture and can be utilized as a tool to express art, which contains association and incorporation of various technology. Film is a denotation of integration between various elements such as literature, theatre, fine arts, technology, and publication medium. This research refers to film as a media. By using Roland Barthes’s semiotics, that is the denotation of the meaning, connotation and myths that can be extracted from several scene. The result of this research shows that films is often regarded by the general public as a condition that arises in our environment. Breaking the myth that the capability of a women, primarily single parents, is inferior to that of the male counterpart, due to the fact of the difficulty to provide spare time for the children. That a mother who spend most of their time working, finding it difficult to communicate with their children properly, as children is occupied with communication technology such as cell phone tend to have an adverse effect to the harmony of the relationship between a mother and children.
