Abstract

Para pendidik merasa cukup berat melakukan pendisiplinan serta menanamkan pembiasaan yang baik, seperti datang tepat waktu dan mengumpulkan tugas sesuai prosedur. Ketika SLH Sekampung memiliki homestay, pendisiplinan yang dilakukan oleh guru di sekolah menjadi jauh lebih mudah. Siswa yang berada di homestay terlihat lebih disiplin dan bertanggung jawab dibanding beberapa siswa lainnya. Berdasarkan fenomena adanya perbedaan karakter antara siswa SLH Sekampung yang tinggal di homestay dan tidak, peneliti tertarik melakukan penelitian untuk mengetahui mengapa dan bagaimana peran guru pamong sebagai servant leader dalam membentuk karakter siswa di homestay SLH Sekampung. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini, yaitu jenis penelitian case study. Jumlah sampel yang akan diambil dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh populasi dalam homestay, yaitu 23 siswa dan 6 guru pamong. Peneliti menggunakan instrumen wawancara, kuesioner, dan studi dokumen. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan analisis yang dilakukan, peneliti menemukan bahwa guru pamong dalam homestay memiliki peran penting dalam memimpin dan membentuk karakter siswa. Proses yang dilakukan oleh guru pamong dalam membentuk karakter siswa adalah dengan pengenalan ekspektasi, pembiasaan, dan peran hidup. Keteladan dan integritas guru pamong yang ditunjukkan kepada setiap siswa di homestay juga membuat siswa terinspirasi akan kehidupan guru pamong dan mendorong mereka untuk dapat terus bertumbuh. / Educators feel it is hard to discipline and build good habits, such as arriving on time and collecting assignments according to procedure. Since SLH Sekampung has a homestay, the discipline done by teachers in schools become easier. Students in homestay look more disciplined and responsible than some other student. Based on the phenomenon of character differences between SLH Sekampung students who live in homestay and not, researcher interested in conducting research to find out why and how pamong teacher role as servant leader in shaping student characters in the SLH Sekampung homestay. The research method used is case study research. The number of samples to be taken in this study is the entire population in the homestay, which is 23 students and 6 pamong teachers. The researcher used interview instruments, questionnaires, and documents. Based on the results of research and analysis conducted, researcher found that pamong teachers in homestay have an important role in leading and shaping the character of students. The process conducted by pamong teachers in shaping student character are introduction of expectation, habituation, and the role of life. The role model and integrity of pamong teachers shown to each student in homestay also makes students inspired by the pamong teachers’ life and encourages them to keep growing.
