Abstract

The use of foreign languages, which is increasingly highlighted in almost all aspects of human life, seems to have negative impacts attached. One of them is the students’ ability in speaking Indonesian. Grade 11 students who join the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme also have difficulty in meeting the standard that has been set, especially in writing various personal texts in correct and proper Indonesian. The purpose of this research is to show that the use of the module can helps grade 10 students understand the correct and proper Indonesian and types of personal texts. This certainly also helps grade 10 students prepare themselves before taking the Indonesian Language B subject later in the Diploma Programme. The research and development method used is the simplified form of the theory of Dick & Carey. The research data were obtained using a questionnaire completed by experts, practitioners, and grade 10 students in Indonesian Language B classes. The module is feasible if it has an average score ≥ 3.7. The data showed the final average score of 3.7 and 4.2. Based on the results of the data analysis, it can be concluded that the module can help students understand the correct and proper Indonesian and types of personal texts. / Penggunaan bahasa asing yang semakin ditonjolkan dalam hampir semua aspek kehidupan manusia nampaknya memiliki dampak negatif yang menyertainya. Salah satunya adalah kemampuan siswa dalam berbahasa Indonesia. Siswa kelas XI yang mengambil Diploma Programme dari kurikulum International Baccalaureate juga mengalami kesulitan untuk mencapai standar yang telah dibuat, khususnya dalam menulis berbagai macam teks pribadi dalam bahasa Indonesia yang baik dan benar. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan modul dapat membantu siswa kelas X dalam memahami bahasa Indonesia yang baik dan benar serta jenis-jenis teks pribadi. Hal ini tentunya dapat membantu siswa kelas X dalam mepersiapkan diri mereka sebelum mengambil mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia Language B pada jenjang Diploma nantinya. Metode penelitian dan pengembangan yang digunakan merupakan bentuk sederhana dari teori yang dikemukakan oleh Dick & Carey. Data hasil penelitian diperoleh menggunakan instrument berbentuk angket yang diisi oleh ahli/pakar, praktisi, dan siswa siswa kelas X yang mengikuti mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia Language B. Modul dikatakan layak apabila memiliki nilai rata-rata ≥ 3,7. Data yang diperoleh menunjukkan nilai rata-rata akhir sebesar 3,7 dan 4,2. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, dapat disimpulkan bahwa modul yang dikembangkan dapat membantu siswa dalam memahami bahasa Indonesia yang baik dan benar serta jenis-jenis teks.
