Abstract

The device is an electronic device that is very helpful in both work and communication, but the use of the device nowadays does not only occur in adults, but also among teenagers and children. Increasingly here, the device is made more sophisticated along with interesting content that makes it difficult for users not to use the device. As a result of continuous use, especially in adolescents and children whose age they should play more, socialize and learn, causes them to be lazy to socialize. In fact, being too cool with the device also results in forgetting his time and obligations as a child or student. This study aims find out whether there is a relationship between the intensity of the use of devices to social interaction of elementary school students in grade VI and also to know whether there is a relationship between the intensity of the use of devices to the time management of elementary school students in grade VI. This research is a quantitative study that using correlative method with 3 variables, namely variable intensity of device use, variable social interaction and time management. The study was conducted at the XYZ School in Jakarta with 45 student respondents. The results showed that the significance value is 0.000 < 0.05 which means that both variables have correlation with r = -0.515. The result reflects that intensity of device use and social interaction have medium correlation and negative. It means, when the level of intensity of device use get higher, it will lower down students’ social interaction. For the result of intensity of device use and time menagement, The results showed that the significance value is 0.000 < 0.05 which means that both variables have correlation with r = -0.576. The result reflects that intensity of device use and time management have medium correlation and negative. It means, when the level of intensity of device use get higher, it will lower down students’ time management. / Gawai merupakan sebuah alat elektronik yang sangat membantu dalam pekerjaan maupun berkomunikasi, namun penggunaan gawai pada masa sekarang ini tidak hanya terjadi pada orang dewasa, tapi juga di kalangan remaja dan anak-anak. Semakin ke sini, gawai memang dibuat semakin canggih beserta dengan konten-konten yang menarik sehingga membuat penggunanya sulit untuk tidak menggunakan gawainya. Akibat dari penggunaan secara terus menerus, khususnya pada remaja dan anak-anak di mana usia mereka yang harusnya lebih banyak bermain, bersosialisasi dan belajar, menyebabkan mereka menjadi malas untuk bersosialisasi. Bahkan karena terlalu asik dengan gawainya juga mengakibatkan lupa waktu dan kewajibannya sebagai anak maupun pelajar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ada hubungan antara intensitas penggunaan gawai dengan interaksi sosial siswa SD kelas VI dan mengetahui apakah ada hubungan antara intensitas penggunaan gawai terhadap manajemen waktu siswa SD kelas VI. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian korelasional dengan 3 variabel yaitu intensitas penggunaan gawai, interaksi sosial, dan manajemen waktu. Penelitian dilakukan di Sekolah XYZ Jakarta dengan responden 45 siswa. Dari hasil perhitungan didapatkan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000 < 0,05 yang berarti ke 2 variabel memiliki korelasi dengan derajat hubungan r = -0,515 yang artinya tingkat hubungan antara intensitas penggunaan gawai dengan interaksi sosial berkorelasi sedang dengan arah negatif. Hal itu menunjukkan bahwa semakin tinggi intensitas penggunaan gawai maka semakin rendah interaksi sosial siswa. Sedangkan untuk perhitungan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000 < 0,05 yang berarti ke 2 variabel memiliki korelasi dengan derajat hubungan r = -0,576 yang artinya tingkat hubungan antara intensitas penggunaan gawai dengan manajemen waktu berkorelasi sedang dengan arah negatif. Hal itu menunjukkan bahwa semakin tinggi intensitas penggunaan gawai maka semakin rendah manajemen waktu siswa.
