Abstract

Membangun kesuksesan bagi sebuah mall memerlukan strategi yang baik agar publik eksternal maupun internal dapat terus setia dan loyal. Strategi memberikan motivasi bagi para karyawan merupakan salah satu peranan penting yang dapat membuahkan kinerja yang maksimal dari para karyawan sehingga berujung pada tercapainya goal sebuah perusahaan. Rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah: Bagaimana strategi Employee Relations dalam memotivasi kinerja karyawan Summarecon Mall Serpong?. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan cara wawancara mendalam dan observasi, dengan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa strategi employee relations yang dijalankan oleh Summarecon Mall Serpong membuahkan hasil yang positif. Strategi tersebut dilaksanakan dengan adanya outing, gathering, pemberian pujian, penghargaan, koperasi, fasilitas kesehatan yang menimbulkan sense of participation, sense of belonging sehingga menghasilkan kinerja yang maksimal yang diukur dari absensi, keluar masuknya karyawan serta produktivitas yang diberikan oleh para karyawannya. Peneliti menyarankan agar Summarecon Mall Serpong membuat program penghargaan seperti employee of the month atau penghargaan man of the year agar menjadi salah satu strategi yang dapat memberikan motivasi kepada karyawan setiap bulan dan tahunnya. / The success of a shopping center requires good strategies so that external and internal publics could continue to be loyal. A strategy to give motivation to the employees is important to achieve maximum performance by employees. The research problem in this thesis is: What are the employee relations strategies used by Summarecon Mall Serpong in motivating employee performance? Data is gathered through in-depth interviews and observation, using descriptive qualitative approach. The result shows that the employee relations strategies executed by Summarecon Mall Serpong produce positive results. Those internal strategies are carried out by holding outing events, gatherings, giving awards, establishing a coopt, and providing health facilities that develop a sense of participation and belonging and result in maximum performance that is measured through employee attendence, turnover and productivity. The researcher suggests Summarecon Mall Serpong to launch an appreciation program, such as Employee of the Month, or Man of the Year Award as a strategy to increase motivation monthly and annually.
