Abstract
This research is conducted at Universitas Pelita Harapan Medan. The objective of this study is to know whether perception, motivation, financial reward, professional acknowledgement, and job market consideration influence accounting students’ decision to have a career in taxation field or not. The methods used by the writer in this research is quantitative descriptive method with survey study approach. The distributed questionnaires retrieved only 101 questionnaires from 125 questionnaires. Based on F-test result, perception, motivation, financial reward, professional acknowledgement, and job market consideration simultaneously influence accounting student’ decision to have a career in taxation field. Whereas, based on t-test result, perception, motivation, financial reward, professional acknowledgement, and job market consideration partially influence accounting students’ decision to have a career in taxation field.
