Abstract

Dalam dunia industri khususnya dunia perhotelan saat ini terus mengalami kemajuan dan saling berusaha untuk memenangkan persaingan. Untuk terus membangun kemajuan di industri perhotelan, Hotel Santika Premiere Jakarta selalu berusaha untuk membangun hubungan yang baik terhadap publiknya secara internal dan juga pihak eksternal, yaitu salah satunya ialah media massa. Hal ini dibangun melalui aktivitas media relations yang bertujuan untuk mencapai publisitas yang dimuat di beberapa media mengenai Hotel Santika Premiere Jakarta. Selama magang berlangsung, Penulis berada pada divisi Public Relations, sebagai Public Relations Officer. Aktivitas yang Penulis kerjakan selama magang berlangsung yang berhubungan dengan media sangat berkaitan dengan konsep menjalin hubungan dengan media atau media relations seperti menyebarkan press release, menyelenggarakan press-tours, membuat press-party dan press-reception. Selain itu, aktivitas yang dilakukan oleh penulis selama magang berlangsung yaitu melakukan pemantauan terhadap media, berhubungan dengan publik dan juga mengerjakan administrasi umum. Penulis memperoleh kesimpulan bahwa, divisi public relations Hotel Santika Premiere Jakarta menerapkan media relations dengan tujuan membina hubungan yang harmonis dengan media untuk mencapai publisitas positif dari Hotel Santika Premiere Jakarta. Salah satunya yaitu dengan membuat press-release, selain perusahaan mendapatkan publisitas tanpa mengeluarkan biaya dan pihak media mendapatkan pula sumber berita dari press-release tersebut. Kesuksesan aktivitas ini dapat dibuktikan dengan dimuatnya pemberitaan dari Hotel Santika Premiere Jakarta terhadap press release yang diberikan kepada media. Saran penulis bagi Hotel Santika Premiere Jakarta ialah dapat membuat aktivitas media relations yang jarang dilaksanakan seperti press-conference dan media gathering, yang mana hal tersebut dapat diciptakan sebagai peningkatan hubungan dengan media terhadap kemudahan dalam pengaksesan pemberitaan dari Hotel Santika Premiere Jakarta. / In the world of industry especially the world of hospitality today is continues to progress and trying to win the competition. To continue build on progress in the hospitality industry, Hotel Santika Premiere Jakarta is always trying to build a good relationship to public parties internally and also externally, such as one of it is mass media. It is built through media relations activities aimed at achieving publicity loaded in some media about Hotel Santika Premiere Jakarta. During the internship, the author placed in Public Relations division, as Public Relations Officer. The activity that author do during the internship is related to the concept of establishing relationship with the media or media relations, such as spreading the press-release, organize the press-tours, make press-party and press reception. And activities conducted by the author during internship are doing the media monitoring, related with the public and doing general administration. The author obtained the conclusion, that public relations division of Hotel Santika Premiere Jakarta implement media relations in order to of manage a harmonious relationship with the media to achieve positive publicity of Hotel Santika Premiere Jakarta. One of them is by creating a press-release, in addition to company get publicity without spending costs and get all the media news sources from the press-release. The success of this activity can be proven by the preaching of the Hotel Santika Premiere Jakarta loaded against the press-release that was given to the media. The suggestions from author to Hotel Santika Premiere Jakarta is to create the media relations activity that rarely implemented such as press-conference and media gathering, which can be created as an improvement of the relationship with the media to ease in accessing news from the Hotel Santika Premiere Jakarta.
